RE

Religious Education is central to all our teaching and learning.

As a Catholic school we spend at least ten per cent of curriculum time learning about our faith. Religious Education is led by the headteacher, who supports staff with planning and delivery and teaches a lesson in each class every week, giving a clear view of progression and achievement across the school.

Because children are taught in mixed-age classes, we follow our RE strategy on a rolling programme. The Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist are taught in Emerald Class (Years 3 and 4), and Confirmation in Sapphire Class (Years 5 and 6).

Alongside our Catholic faith, children are taught about other faiths and religions so that they respect people of all faiths and none.

RE is assessed each term, with diocesan assessment evidence collected and analysed to plan the next term's focus for improvement.
