Attendance

Regular attendance is one of the biggest factors in how well children do at school, and it also helps them build friendships and confidence. We monitor attendance closely and work with families whenever attendance begins to slip.

If your child is unwell and cannot attend, please telephone the school office on the first morning of absence, before the start of the school day, and let us know the reason. Please continue to contact us on each day of absence unless we have agreed otherwise.

Medical and dental appointments should be made outside school hours wherever possible. Where an appointment must be during the school day, please let the office know in advance and bring your child back to school afterwards.

Holidays during term time cannot be authorised other than in exceptional circumstances. Arriving on time matters too: children who arrive after the register closes miss the start of learning and are recorded as late.
